The Office of Continuing Education and Professional Development is offering a series of certificate programs in a partnership with the World Instructor Training School. PERSONAL TRAINER NATIONAL CERTIFICATION
Come join this fun field and be a part of what ABC NEWS.com states is the fourth hottest job in the US, at a national average of $25 an hour. Whether for a career move or for your own personal knowledge, get all the information you need to become a CERTIFIED PERSONAL TRAINER. This challenging course is taught over a five-week period for better retention and skill competency. The National Exam is held in the sixth week. Fifteen hours of "hands on" practical training prepares you to actually work with clients. Also, 15 hours of lectures include, but are not limited to, anatomy, exercise physiology, nutrition, health screening, etc. Proof of CPR and a 20-hour internship will prepare you to work successfully in the fitness field. This is a great opportunity to network with employers, while getting valuable experience. Taking this course will also help you to prepare for your NATIONAL BOARDS!!
