What subject matter does this degree cover?

Through their course work, students receive training in the following areas:

  •  Behavioral, cellular, developmental, and molecular neuroscience

  •  Mental retardation/developmental disabilities

  •  Psychosocial factors in normal and abnormal development

  •  Biomedical genetics

  •  Statistical and research methods, research ethics

Thesis research under the mentorship of faculty provides students with state-of-the-art knowledge appropriate to their particular field of specialization.  The diversity of the faculty gives students the opportunity to individually craft novel scientific approaches to studying mental retardation and developmental disabilities.
